Are you a student, or recent graduate, with software / business systems experience? Do you have knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PDF’s and general software development? This internship could be of interest...

This opportunity offers the chance to observe and participate in the full operational system of a business and to understand and provide solutions to day to day operational difficulties. You will gain experience with a system integration commercial management software package utilised throughout the world.

The employer provides a range of services to business in a specific industry sector, and are presently staffed by a mix of 20 technical and administration personnel; they are now looking for the next stage of their managed growth which involves a new piece of software they have developed which implements an integrated back office work flow system- helping to improve operational efficiency.

The software manages the full traceability of the staff, processes, procedures, and quality assurance, by effective utilisation of initial data input, reduction of repetitive tasks, automation and rule setting via a flow chart methodology.

The internship is to help integrate and develop the software.

While there will be the support of key personnel in each departmental area, you will be required to work a lot of the time on your own initiative. From day one, you will quickly learn the inter-department work processes and get a complete picture of the overall operational structure. There is no actual software coding, it is programming of the software tailored to the business model via a flow chart methodology.

The aim of the internship is for you to make a vast improvement in work flow efficiency, automation of repetitive tasks, improvement of system traceability, improvement of quality assurance traceability and reduction of clerical errors. In summary to provide an increase in operational profitability.

This will offer you some excellent experience, and could potentially turn into a permanent role - there are further development and enhancements for integration of the Testing Department and Equipment Hire Department at a later stage.

Some basic knowledge of engineering/instrumentation would be ideal.

Location is to the west of Brighton.
