This consultancy uses their technical excellence to solve water management challenges for clients including businesses in the water sector, Governments and non-governmental organisations. They are growing and looking to add a graduate with knowledge of Environmental Economics (ideally with A levels in Maths or Science) to help with their water resources consultancy work.
Water resources management is becoming one of the most challenging issues in the UK and overseas; new approaches are needed in order to ensure that people’s needs for safe and secure water supply is met, and that the aquatic environment is properly protected.
Water resources resilience planning is an important service offered by the consultancy and they are seeking to further invest in developing a larger consulting business in this area.
Which is where you come in…
Your role as a water resources/environmental economist will primarily be in helping to deliver a wide range of interesting and challenging water resources projects, covering areas such as water resource planning, water balance analysis and water conservation - the specifics of these are something you will learn as part of the role. This will involve data handling, statistics and analytical studies .
Some basic knowledge of natural capital, and an interest in applying natural capital accounting methods to water environment is required- if you are not sure what this means then please do some quick research before you apply.
It would be ideal if you have knowledge of R, but don’t worry if not as this is something they can train you in.
The location is based to the north-east of Bristol, and is also commutable from Bath, Chepstow, Stroud and Chippenham.
