Established in 1999, this company develops advanced software design tools mainly for the automotive and aerospace fields, with clients that include Daimler, BAE Systems, BMW, JLR and Porsche. With accumulated background knowledge in electric motor design, they provide support to machine designers, with their own range of bespoke software packages that are used in many cutting edge projects, including electric and hybrid vehicles, wind generation and electric aircraft.
They have a great track-record of taking on and developing students and graduates, and are now looking for a talented student to help with their software development work, which focuses on electric motor design.
This will be an undergraduate placement for 12 weeks, start date is flexible to some extent but will be around June. This is with a view to ongoing connections, or even a permanent role with the company on completion of your studies.
The post will give you an opportunity to gain experience in software development, while reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer.
This role would be suitable for a student with an interest in learning about software development and electric motor design. Ideally some knowledge of the field of electric motors and thermo-dynamics would be beneficial.
As you will be working within a small company, you will also be exposed to the customer service element of their work, and must be able to demonstrate a professional telephone manner, and articulate written skills.
Please note this opportunity is only available to undergraduates who will be returning to study on the same course after the Summer.
