Julian Polzella - London Innovation Placement Programme

Julian's project was defined as a solution for modeling oil and gas well production decline curves, which would contribute to a growing company portfolio. Ultimately this would provide Palantir with the means to expand their current business into the American market. The original plan contained elements which have never been used by Palantir, elements which were crucial to the success of the project.

Julian worked with Palantir’s software development team to design and build the architecture and solution. The application was fully demonstrated and tested internally towards the end of the project which generated some very encouraging feedback. Palantir have decided the new methods will be used in future builds of current and new software.

Charlotte, a 21-year old Biology student from Leeds University was crowned the “UK’s Most Enterprising Student 2009” for developing an energy reduction service which is set to generate a £300,000 turnover for her host business.

Studying Geography at The University of Bristol, Jenny was placed with Ming Foods to develop a new product. The company owners required a solution for how to effectively use waste pancake dough - a bi-product of their automated process.

Julian was awarded Winner of the Entrepreneurial Spirit category at the 2008 London Knowledge Transfer Awards.

Julian’s 12-week placement project took place at Palantir Economic Solutions Ltd. It involved him completing a prototype version of a new and innovative software application for the oil and gas industry.
