Step Classic

At a time when more and more students are graduating every year – and entering an increasingly competitive job market – having a degree may not be enough to secure the job you want. Step can help you gain that all important work experience to help you stand out from the crowd in a meaningful way.

This is the classic summer placement programme for undergraduates studying full time at UK Universities. Placements are generally in small businesses where you undertake a specific piece of work of real benefit to the host company.

Most placements last between 8 and 12 weeks over the summer vacation and you will receive a training

allowance of £210 a week, which is free of tax and national insurance.

This year we expect to have several hundred opportunities across England, mainland Scotland and the Highlands and Islands.

You will be supported throughout by either a member of our central team or one of our dedicated local partners, who source the opportunities, match suitable candidates and deal with all the admin.
