Salary: £12 per hour
The equity team of this major pension fund manages c£5bn of assets, with £1bn outsourced and £4bn managed by a team of eight fund managers. The equity intern will join this friendly team of knowledgeable investment professionals to support them in their research efforts.
There are two aspects to this role:
- Learning about the equity investment process
- Building a database of information for support the team’s efforts in developing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy & processes.
- stock selection
- portfolio construction
- asset allocation
- risk management
- equity trading
To execute the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Project, you will work closely with the equities team to develop the ESG policy including:
- Build a database collecting key ESG variables for all 58 stocks in the Equity Fund
- Help with making recommendations on ways in which this ESG data can be used.
Skills and Attributes required
Applicants will be graduates or undergraduates on any course with a numerical element who have a genuine interest in Investment. You must be able to complete a 10-week internship from 22nd June 2020.
You must be able to demonstrate strong competence in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel,excellent verbal and written communication skills, quantitative skills – a facility with numbers is key, strong organisational skills.
In addition you must have an interest in financial markets and investing, be a team player who is confident in conversing in a busy team environment and you will be proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload. With a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, you will also be analytical and accurate in your approach.
