What You'll Be Doing:
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you'll be actively involved in the design and development of transformer tanks, cooling systems, and structural components using advanced CAD tools. You'll gain hands-on experience by supporting manufacturing teams, troubleshooting production challenges, and seeing your designs transition from concept to reality. Working alongside experienced mechanical and electrical engineers, you'll collaborate on high-profile projects that will accelerate your learning and professional growth. Throughout your role, you'll deepen your understanding of transformer design principles, thermal analysis, stress calculations, and quality planning. You'll also play a key part in driving innovation through continuous improvement initiatives, sustainability efforts, and cost optimisation strategies.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng or related discipline).
- Strong 3D CAD skills and understanding of materials, fabrication, and mechanical systems.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for energy infrastructure, power systems, or heavy engineering.
- A curious, creative thinker who's eager to learn and take on new challenges.
- Industry experience through placements, internships, or projects.
- Practical, hands-on engineering experience (e.g. prototyping, testing, R&D).
- Knowledge of electrical engineering or transmission/distribution systems.
- A genuine interest in engineering design and product development.
- Starting Salary Ranging from £29,000-£35,000.
