The business is the leading manufacturer of frozen confectionery products in Europe. In 1990 the company’s UK Business Unit was established, based in Yorkshire, Northern England. The UK office are responsible for the Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain Management of a large range of branded and private label products which are distributed to a wide range of retail and food service customers globally.
 
The company’s UK business unit is seeking a placement student/graduate to join the team, to complement the expanding global business in this sector. If you are enthusiastic, focussed and ambitious with the desire to develop in a thriving business then this could be the role for you.
 
This will be a challenging yet rewarding placement where you will be expose you to wide-range of business operations within a successful but tough market environment. The possibility to gain overall commercial knowledge of our Supply Chain Management as well as the overall business and you will be given the responsibility and opportunity to make a positive impact on the supply chain and business as a whole. Having a flexible ‘can do’ attitude will propel you far in this role. On a day to day you will be required to monitor and manage orders and maintain stock level optimisation within a number of different warehouses. Volume forecasting and liaising with colleagues and 3rd party logistics providers will assist you with the optimisation of logistics operations. You will use clear and regular communication with customers regarding orders and stock updates. Alongside you will consistently use and analyse the customer databases. Preparation of reports on performance, both internal and external will also be completed. 
 
About You
  • International Business and Management or Business degree would be ideal, however all other relevant qualifications will be considered
  • An interest in Supply Chain Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interpersonal and team working skills
  • Self-motivation and good organisational skills
  • Adaptable
  • Ability to work reactively, in a dynamic industry
  • If you can speak German it is preferrable but not essential

Additional Information
  • This will be a 12 month contract
  • 39 hours per week (8:30am – 17:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 16:00pm on Friday)
  • 20 Holiday days plus bank holidays (in lieu if worked)
  • Start date in July
  • You will be required to travel occasionally for this role however a driving license is not required
  • This is a sandwich placement opportunity open to students who are required to complete a placement between their second and final years. Only applicants who will still be enrolled on a course of study and looking for a placement year will be considered. You you will receive an allowance of £1050pcm + house accommodation (With other placement students), Utilities are also included.
