About the Internship
We are looking for a motivated and analytical AI Data Automation Intern to support an exciting digital transformation project focused on improving administrative and financial processes across the business.
Working closely with an experienced business improvement specialist, you will analyse how data moves between their bespoke ERP system and Sage 50 Accounts, identify inefficiencies, and help design solutions that reduce manual administration and improve data accuracy.
This internship can be completed full time for graduates (4 weeks) or part-time along studying for undergraduates (6 weeks) and requires onsite attendance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in business systems, automation, data management, digital transformation and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and document existing business processes and data workflows.
- Identify manual data entry activities, reconciliation issues and process bottlenecks.
- Support the design and implementation of process improvements.
- Develop automation solutions using Excel tools, macros and other digital technologies.
- Create and enhance reports using Sage Report Writer.
- Assist with testing and rolling out improved processes.
- Research and compare accounting software solutions, including Sage upgrades and Xero.
- Present findings and recommendations to support business decision-making.
This internship offers hands-on experience in data analysis, process mapping, ERP systems, Excel automation and digital transformation, giving you the opportunity to solve real business challenges while developing valuable skills in process improvement, stakeholder engagement and business change.
About You
This internship could be particularly rewarding for students or recent graduates in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Management or IT, offering hands-on experience in data analysis, process mapping, business systems, Excel automation and digital transformation while helping to solve real business challenges and improve operational efficiency.

You will receive full training on Des Gosling's ERP and Sage 50 systems and work alongside your mentor, who has extensive experience in business process improvement and change management. Daily support and mentoring will be provided throughout the internship.
